For this blog i will be writing about the most popular part of mixed martial arts and my personal favourites. Boxing

Boxing is a combat sport fought in a square ring where to fighters punch eachother to score points for 12 three minute rounds usually wearing padded gloves.

Humans have fought each other hand to hand since the dawn of time but the first origins of the sport of boxing has ties to the ancient Greeks in 688 BC. Boxing evolved a lot in Great Britain in the 16th to the 18th century until in 1867 the marquess of queensbury rules were formed which are still used in boxing to this day.

There is a book on the whole topic of geography of boxing and how race and class has formed the sport so i will give anyone reading the title as they may find it interesting. The book is called "The Urban geography of boxing: Race, class and gender in the ring " Written  by Benita Heiskannen.  I hope you enjoy it.
My third topic for my mixed martial arts blog is the discipline of muay thai.

Muay thai is a martial arts originating from Thailand. It is mental discipline along with  a striking sport along with some clinching techniques  and is commonly known as Thai boxing. Muay thai is often nicknamed the art of eight limbs due to its combined use of fists shins elbows and knees.Muay thai became world wide in the 20th century after many muay thai fighters beat fighters from other disciplined from across the world

The history of muay thai has been tracked back to the middle of the 18th century during the battles of the Burmese of the Konbaung Dynasty and Siam. The infamous fighter Nai Khanomtom was offered a chance by the burmese to fight for his freedom which he did and won. He returned a hero and his fighting style was named Siamise boxing and was to be called Muay Thai at a later date

.
My second topic for this blog is wrestling
What it is
How it fits into modern times
and where it’s from and its origins

Wrestling is a combat sport involving grappling techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedown it also consists of joints locks and pins.
My second
The sport of wrestling fascinatingly dates back 15,000 years. We he knows this from cave drawings found in France. You can also see e
Egyptian and Babylonian reliefs showing that most of the holds were the same showing the sport has not developed much. There are also literary references to wrestling in the old testament in the book of genesis.

Wrestling is a big part of mixed martial arts as many fights can be won in the clinch however Olympic wrestling is the most well-known variant of the sport as it is used in major sporting events such as world championships and the Olympics.

My first topic for this blog is the geography of jiu jitsu

Jiu jitsu is a form of martial art and combat system. It is a style that mainly focuses on ground fighting and a bit of wrestling. Jiu jitsu came from the fighting style kodoka judo. It is a fighting style consisting of chokes and holds on the ground. The main appeal of this style of fighting is the fact that in jiu jitsiu it is quite possible for a smaller and weaker opponent to win against someone who is bigger and satronger if they use the right technique. In recent years jiu jitsu has become much popular due to the expansion of the ufc and now average people want to know jiu jitsu. Jiu jirsu is one of the safest martial arts as there is no striking however there is a possibility of being choked out or dislocating a joint
Jiu Jitsu was brought to the gracie family 1914 by Conde Koma  from Japan and the gracie family then evolved the sport.
