For this blog i will be writing about the most popular part of mixed martial arts and my personal favourites. Boxing

Boxing is a combat sport fought in a square ring where to fighters punch eachother to score points for 12 three minute rounds usually wearing padded gloves.

Humans have fought each other hand to hand since the dawn of time but the first origins of the sport of boxing has ties to the ancient Greeks in 688 BC. Boxing evolved a lot in Great Britain in the 16th to the 18th century until in 1867 the marquess of queensbury rules were formed which are still used in boxing to this day.

There is a book on the whole topic of geography of boxing and how race and class has formed the sport so i will give anyone reading the title as they may find it interesting. The book is called "The Urban geography of boxing: Race, class and gender in the ring " Written  by Benita Heiskannen.  I hope you enjoy it.
